Before: When Fred felt he was competent, confident and comfortable with his craft, he looked out over his drums and saw me!

During: When Fred joined Earth, Wind & Fire he became a world traveler. And one of the highlights of such travel was the enjoyment of education he received by visiting the museums of as many countries as time would allow.

After: Fred introduced me to Miles (Davis) when Miles was performing at the University of Chicago on the Quadrangle. The stage was up and Fred walked me over to the stage and up the steps where I met Miles.
